The contractor is still the only one liable for not performing under the conditions of his contract with the client. The Landscape Architect would not be held liable for simply a ‘bad recommendation’, all liabilities are still placed to the contractor.

The Landscape Architect might however lose credibility to that client, but this is the extent of the ‘damage’ associated with the Landscape Architect.
