What are the changes between the JCLI 2012 and the 2017 edition?

The changes between the JCLI 2012 and the 2017 edition, are summarised below:

JCLI LWC (Landscape Works Contract)

The Contract has been updated to take account of many of the amendments in the JCT Minor Works Building Contract 2016. The payment provisions in the 2017 edition are essentially the same as in the 2012 edition, and guidance on the changes is provided in the JCLI Practice Note No 8 Revision 2 (April 2017) and the Model Certificates and Other Forms document for the contract (April 2017).

JCLI LMWC (Landscape Maintenance Works Contract)

The payment provisions in the 2017 edition are essentially the same as in the 2012 edition and guidance on the changes is provided in the JCLI Practice Note No 9 Revision 2 (April 2017) and the Model Certificates and Other Forms document for the contract (April 2017).

JCLI LMWC (Landscape Works with Contractor’s Design)

The JCLI Landscape Works Contract with Contractor’s Design 2017 is very similar to the JCLI LWC 2017 but incorporates provisions for discrete elements of the work to be designed by the Contractor. It is not appropriate as a Design and Build Contract. The payment provisions in the 2017 edition are essentially the same as in the 2012 edition and guidance on the changes is provided in the JCLI Practice Note No 8 Revision 2 (April 2017) and the Model Certificates and Other Forms document for the contract (April 2017).
